Hi,
We've had an abandoned dog in the neighborhood for several weeks. We've all posted pictures online looking for his owner. Given the heat and then the storms rolling, followed by the fireworks, we took him in but we cannot keep him. We're full... 3 dogs and a cat (all rescues)
He is not chipped. He appears to be healthy - no vomiting, no diarrhea, eats and drinks normally and weighs about 45lbs. When he came to us he had a tie-out cable attached to his collor, that appeared to have been cut. He does well with my 3 dogs but, not our cat.... wants to eat the cat (hence we cannot keep him).
He has growled - not agressively - more like conversation
Has rarely bark, even when my dogs go crazy barking at the door.
He has jumped up a few times, playfully excited, not agressively (except when he's after the cat).
He does not get on furniture.
He does not want to climb the stairs
Prefers the freedom beyond the front door over the back yard
Does not swim
I'm guessing he's full grown. He's not fixed nor is he chipped. I'm not a good judge of age but he's beyond puppyhood, maybe 5-6 years. His teeth look good, he's calm, relaxed, sleeps but is excited to see you when you come home. He has a few scars from who knows what but, all in all, he seems healthy.
Can you help?
Cindy
